Q: Does Flo-Ware use a database
management system?
A: Absolutely NOT. Flo-Ware utilizes a
file based system for data management.

Q: Many other
companies' software use databases. Why not Flo-Ware?
A: Using a database is a shortcut in getting to the
marketplace. However, the user ends up disadvantaged.
While databases are excellent for transactional systems
(i.e., manhole inspections, internal CCTV inspections,
etc.), they are not good at all for instrumentation that
gathers data on a regular basis (i.e., flowmeters, rain
gauges, etc.) Databases are not portable, making them
difficult to use in the field or share with a colleague.
Flo-Ware overcomes all of these problems by utilizing a
single file based system for each data file used.

Q: Can I import other vendor's data
into Flo-Ware?
A: Yes. You can copy from a spreadsheet for
example and paste the data into Flo-Ware.

Q: Why do I have to register this
software?
A: The only reason we require registration is so that
we can support you better. Knowing who has the
software helps us keep you up to date with the latest
revisions and enhancements. Your license is a site
license. This means that you may purchase one copy of
the program and utilize it on as many computers at the same
site as you like.

Q: I noticed that the software changes
several times per year on average. Why is this and do
I have to pay for the upgrades?
A: All upgrades are free. Flo-Ware is a
dynamic, ever evolving product that changes based on user
input. We compile feature requests and try to
implement things that follow the program's design while
addressing most of the users.
